The Bihar UGMAC Seat Matrix 2026 provides college-wise seat intake and vacancy details for MBBS, BDS, veterinary, and fisheries courses offered through undergraduate counselling in Bihar. Published by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), the Round 1, revised Round 2, and Round 3 documents show seat distribution at different stages of the admission process.
The three matrices serve different purposes. The Round 1 document lists the original seat intake and category-wise allocation, while the revised Round 2 and Round 3 documents report vacancies at the respective counselling stages.
This article brings together government and private medical college seats, dental college seats, category-wise allocation details, and veterinary and fisheries vacancies. All figures below follow the respective official seat-matrix documents. BCECEB has also published Round 3 allotment information and a counselling corrigendum dated 14 October 2026. Candidates should check the latest official notices for allotment status, eligibility conditions, and reporting instructions, as the seat matrix alone does not confirm final admission.

The Round 1 matrix lists 1,710 MBBS seats across 12 government medical colleges. It also shows the seats available after specified All India Quota (AIQ) and C.N. deductions, along with category-wise allocations and Disabled Quota (DQ) seats.
The total-intake and seats-available columns represent different figures. The available-seat count should therefore be read alongside the deductions and category details specified in the official document.
Note: C.N. deductions refer to the deductions specified in the official Round 1 seat matrix. The available seat figures should be read alongside the official category and quota details.
| Government medical college | Total intake | Seats available after specified deductions | DQ seats |

Patna Medical College has the highest listed government MBBS intake, with 250 seats. Nalanda Medical College follows with 200 seats. DMC, JLNMCH, SKMC, and IGIMS each have an intake of 150 seats.
The distinction between total intake and seats available after deductions is important when checking the original seat position. For example, PMC Patna has 250 seats in total, while 207 appear in the seats-available column after the specified deductions.
The category-wise allocation includes UR, F-UR, SC, F-SC, ST, EBC, BC, EWS and RCG categories, with female-category entries where applicable. Candidates seeking reservation-specific details should consult the complete category-wise distribution in the official Round 1 PDF.
The original matrix lists 2,450 MBBS seats across 14 private medical colleges. The seat distribution includes UR, Muslim Minority, Sikh Minority, and NRI categories.

Madhubani Medical College, Narayan Medical College & Hospital and Netaji Subhas Medical College & Hospital each have 250 seats in the original matrix. Katihar Medical College, MGM Medical College, Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College, and RDJM Medical College each have 200 seats.
Madhubani Medical College has 125 Muslim Minority seats, while Katihar Medical College has 100. MGM Medical College lists 60 Sikh Minority seats.
These figures describe the category-wise seat allocation in the original matrix, not the relative quality or ranking of the colleges. Eligibility for minority and NRI seats depends on the applicable counselling rules.
The Round 1 matrix covers Patna Dental College as the government dental college and three private dental colleges.
| Government dental college | College | Course | Total intake | Seats available after deductions | DQ |
| Patna Dental College, Patna | BDS | 40 | 30 | 2 |
The category-wise distribution for Patna Dental College includes UR, F-UR, SC, F-SC, EBC, F-EBC, BC, F-BC, RCG, EWS and F-EWS seats. Refer to the official matrix for the full category-wise breakdown.

Patna Medical College has the highest reported vacancy count, with 80 seats. Government Medical College, Chapra, Saran, follows with 43 vacancies, while Shri Ram Janki Medical College & Hospital, Samastipur, has 42.
The Round 2 matrix includes colleges such as Chapra and Shri Ram Janki Medical College that do not appear in the Round 1 government MBBS table above. Their appearance in the later matrix does not mean that all their seats were newly created in Round 2. The documents report seat information for different counselling stages.
The official category columns include UR, F-UR, SC, F-SC, ST, F-ST, EBC, F-EBC, BC, F-BC, EWS, F-EWS, RCG, and additional quota categories. For category-specific availability, use the entries in the revised Round 2 PDF rather than relying on the college-wise total alone.
The revised Round 2 document lists 1,154 private MBBS vacancies across 17 colleges.
| Private medical college | Round 2 vacancies |

Himalaya Medical College & Hospital reports the highest Round 2 private MBBS vacancy count, with 118 seats, followed by Mahabodhi Medical College & Hospital with 117. K K Medical College & Hospital and Mamta Medical College & Hospital each report 100 vacancies.
The revised matrix also identifies category-wise vacancies. For example, it lists 28 NRI vacancies at Himalaya Medical College and 30 at Mahabodhi Medical College.
These are reported vacancies, not confirmed allotments or a guarantee that every candidate is eligible for the seats shown. The applicable category conditions must be checked separately.
The revised Round 2 matrix lists 57 BDS vacancies, comprising 16 at Patna Dental College and 41 across private dental colleges.
| Dental college | Type | Round 2 vacancies |
| Patna Dental College, Patna | Government | 16 |
| Buddha Institute of Dental Science & Hospital, Patna | Private | 13 |

| Sarjug Dental College & Hospital, Laheriasarai | Private | 11 |
| Total | 57 |
Mithila Minority Dental College has the highest private BDS vacancy count, with 17 seats, including nine NRI vacancies.
The Round 3 matrix shows the vacant seat position published by BCECEB for UGMAC 2026. The document notes that virtual vacancies may arise due to seat upgradation and that the total seat figures include Disabled Quota (DQ) seats. These vacancies should not be treated as the number of candidates finally admitted.
| Government medical college | Round 3 vacancies |

| DMC, Laheriasarai | 11 |
| ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Bihta, Patna | 6 |

| Total | 117 |
Nalanda Medical College, Patna, has the highest reported vacancy total, with 16 seats. Patna Medical College follows with 15, while GMC Bettiah has 12. DMC Laheriasarai and SKMC Muzaffarpur each have 11 vacancies.
Government MBBS vacancies decrease from 345 in Round 2 to 117 in Round 3, a difference of 228 in the reported totals. This change does not establish that exactly 228 students joined colleges between the two rounds.
The category columns differ between the Round 2 and Round 3 documents. Candidates should use the Round 3 PDF for its exact category-wise breakdown rather than carrying forward allocations from the previous round.
The Round 3 matrix lists 501 private MBBS vacancies across 17 colleges.
| Private medical college | Round 3 vacancies |
| Buddha Hospital and Research Institute, Gaya | 17 |
| Himalaya Medical College & Hospital, Paliganj, Patna | 35 |

| Total | 501 |
Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College & Hospital has the highest reported private MBBS vacancy count in Round 3, with 72 seats. Mahabodhi Medical College follows with 59 vacancies, while Madhubani Medical College has 39.
The category-wise allocation includes UR, NRI and, where applicable, minority-category seats. For example, the supplied matrix lists 30 NRI vacancies at Mahabodhi Medical College and 26 at Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College.
Before preparing a preference list, candidates should check the Round 3 PDF for the precise category labels and eligibility conditions. The overall vacancy count does not mean that every seat is open to every candidate.
The Round 3 matrix lists 23 BDS vacancies, including six at Patna Dental College and 17 across private dental colleges.
| Dental college | Type | Round 3 vacancies |
| Patna Dental College, Patna | Government | 6 |
| Buddha Institute of Dental Science & Hospital, Patna | Private | 3 |
| Mithila Minority Dental College & Hospital, Darbhanga | Private | 12 |
| Sarjug Dental College & Hospital, Laheriasarai | Private | 2 |
| Total | 23 |
Mithila Minority Dental College has the highest private BDS vacancy count in Round 3, with 12 seats, including nine NRI vacancies.
The UGMAC seat-matrix documents also cover Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) and Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.). These courses have separate seat allocations and should be considered independently of MBBS and BDS.
| Institution | Course | Total seats | DQ seats |
| Bihar Veterinary College, Patna | B.V.Sc. & A.H. | 56 | 3 |
| College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (COVAS), Kishanganj | B.V.Sc. & A.H. | 80 | 4 |
| College of Fisheries, Kishanganj | B.F.Sc. | 42 | 3 |
| Bihar Veterinary College, Patna, self-financed | B.V.Sc. & A.H. | 8 | 0 |
| College of Fisheries, Kishanganj, self-financed | B.F.Sc. | 8 | 0 |
The original matrix includes category-wise allocations for these institutions, including UR, SC, ST, EBC, BC, RCG and EWS entries, as applicable. Some rows also contain Ward of BASU seats.
| Institution | Course | Round 2 vacancies |
| Bihar Veterinary College, Patna, self-financed | B.V.Sc. & A.H. | 1 |
| Bihar Veterinary College, Patna | B.V.Sc. & A.H. | 15 |
| College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Kishanganj | B.V.Sc. & A.H. | 33 |
| College of Fisheries, Kishanganj, self-financed | B.F.Sc. | 5 |
| College of Fisheries, Kishanganj | B.F.Sc. | 24 |
| Institution | Course | Round 3 vacancies |
| Bihar Veterinary College, Patna, self-financed | B.V.Sc. & A.H. | 0 |

| College of Fisheries, Kishanganj, self-financed | B.F.Sc. | 4 |
| College of Fisheries, Kishanganj | B.F.Sc. | 22 |
The combined veterinary and fisheries vacancy count decreases from 78 in Round 2 to 38 in Round 3. These figures should remain separate from MBBS and BDS vacancies when reporting medical and dental seat availability.
BCECEB also published a Round 3 counselling corrigendum dated 14 October 2026. Candidates allotted veterinary or fisheries seats should read the latest official notice for the applicable allotment, freeze and reporting instructions instead of relying on the seat matrix alone.
The following table compares the vacancies reported in the revised Round 2 and Round 3 documents. The difference reflects the change in reported vacancy totals, not a confirmed count of admissions between rounds.
| Course and institution type | Round 2 vacancies | Round 3 vacancies | Difference |
| Government MBBS | 345 | 117 | 228 fewer |
| Private MBBS | 1,154 | 501 | 653 fewer |
| Government BDS | 16 | 6 | 10 fewer |
| Private BDS | 41 | 17 | 24 fewer |
| MBBS and BDS combined | 1,556 | 641 | 915 fewer |
| Veterinary and fisheries combined | 78 | 38 | 40 fewer |
| All listed courses combined | 1,634 | 679 | 955 fewer |
The combined vacancy count across the listed courses falls from 1,634 in Round 2 to 679 in Round 3. For MBBS and BDS together, the reported total decreases from 1,556 to 641.
This difference should not be interpreted as proof that exactly 955 candidates joined colleges between rounds. Virtual vacancies arising from seat upgradation can affect the reported position, and the matrices alone do not provide a complete record of final admissions.
The Round 1 document presents the original seat distribution, including total intake and category allocation. The revised Round 2 and Round 3 matrices show vacancies at particular stages of counselling. Use the figures for the relevant round and avoid adding the original intake to the later-round vacancies.
The documents use abbreviations such as UR, F-UR, SC, F-SC, ST, F-ST, EBC, F-EBC, BC, F-BC, EWS, F-EWS, RCG, DQ, MM, SM, NRI and WQ. Not every document uses the same column order or category set. Check the definitions and category-wise entries in the relevant official PDF before interpreting a vacancy or deciding whether it applies to you.
The Round 1 private-college matrix lists Muslim Minority, Sikh Minority and NRI seats. Later-round documents may use different printed labels. The presence of a seat in a particular category does not mean it is available to every candidate.
Eligibility for minority and NRI seats depends on the applicable counselling rules and the candidate’s category or status. A college-wise vacancy total alone does not establish eligibility.
A seat listed as vacant is not a confirmed allotment. Admission depends on merit position, category, eligibility, college preferences, and the applicable counselling rules. Candidates should also review official notices for changes to the counselling schedule or seat position.
Seat count is only one factor when preparing a college preference list. Course choice, fees, location, facilities and individual circumstances also matter. The seat matrix reports seat availability; it is not a ranking of medical or dental colleges.
Before locking choices, cross-check the vacancy table with the latest counselling notice and any relevant corrigendum.

Yes. The documents include B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. seat information. These figures are separate from MBBS and BDS vacancies.
9. Why do the Round 2 and Round 3 vacancy totals differ?
The documents report vacancies at different counselling stages. Upgradation and virtual vacancies can affect the reported position, so the difference between the two totals should not be treated as a confirmed admission count.
The Bihar UGMAC Seat Matrix 2026 lists 4,160 MBBS seats in Round 1, followed by 1,499 MBBS vacancies in Round 2 and 618 in Round 3. BDS vacancies also decreased from 57 in Round 2 to 23 in Round 3.
The college-wise tables highlight vacancy changes across government and private institutions, along with veterinary and fisheries seats. Candidates should check the relevant round’s PDF for college-wise and category-wise vacancies, then consult the latest BCECEB notices for allotment status, eligibility requirements, and reporting deadlines.
