NEET UG 2025 Update: NTA Confirms APAAR ID is Optional, Introduces ABC ID Guidelines
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that while creating an APAAR ID (previously known as Academic Bank of Credits or ABC ID) is beneficial, it is not mandatory for NEET UG 2025 registration. Students can register using other available methods. However, having an APAAR ID ensures streamlined academic record management.
The ABC ID is an ID that uniquely identifies the academic credits of a student and automatically tracks the students from Class I to higher education.
Important Points for an ABC ID
1. Unique Academic Identifier: Trace the academic journey of the students from Class I onwards.
2. Smooth Monitoring: Enables continuous assessment and improvement.
3. Paperless Records: All the academic records kept safely; the workload on administrative work is reduced.
4. Personal Interventions: Classroom teachers will be able to offer focused remedial support based on areas of weakness.
Children will be able to form an ABC ID through any of the below channels:
Important Notes
The APAAR ID is NOT mandatory for NEET UG 2025 registration.
Students can apply to NEET also through other platforms if they don't want to make an ABC ID.
