NEET UG Counselling 2026: 183 New MBBS & BDS Seats Added in Round 3

The MCC has published a notice regarding the increase in seats for the NEET UG 2026 MBBS/BDS course. In Round 3, a total of 183 seats have been increased. These increases have been made in various dental and medical colleges situated in Maharashtra, Puducherry, Tripura, Uttarakhand, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

Participants of this round must go through the new changes and adjust their preferences if necessary. Keep in mind that many choices may still be relevant even after the new changes have been made.

The new choices will be helpful to those candidates who are currently finalizing their preferences. During your review, you should also consider the course and the quota and category under which the seat has been alloted.

Out of the total 183 seats, 115 have been added in Maharashtra, including 15 MBBS seats and 100 BDS seats. Other additions have been made in Puducherry, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

State-Wise Distribution of New Seats

The 183 seats are spread across five states and Union Territories. Maharashtra accounts for both MBBS and BDS additions, while the other locations covered in this update have newly added MBBS seats.

Maharashtra: 115 New Seats

Maharashtra has the largest share of the newly added seats, with 115 seats in total.

Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government Medical College, Ahilyanagar

The college has 15 newly added MBBS seats across BC, EW, OP, SC and ST categories:

These seats are shown under the All India quota, specified as “All India except Central University.”

Datta Meghe Dental College, Hospital and Research Centre, Nagpur

A total of 100 BDS seats have been added at Datta Meghe Dental College, Hospital and Research Centre.

The seats are shown under the Deemed University category and Self-Financed Merit Seat quota, with 100 seats under the OP category.

Puducherry: 50 New MBBS Seats

Vinayaka Missions Medical College, Karaikal has 50 newly added MBBS seats.

The seats are shown under the Deemed University category and Self-Financed Merit Seat quota. All 50 seats are listed under the OP category.

Tripura: 8 New MBBS Seats

Agartala Government Medical College, Agartala has 8 newly added MBBS seats.

These seats are shown under the All India quota, specified as “All India except Central University.”

Uttarakhand: 7 New MBBS Seats

Late Jagjivan Ram Government Medical College, Pithoragarh, has 7 newly added MBBS seats.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu: 3 New MBBS Seats

NAMO Medical Education & Research Institute, Government Medical College, Silvassa, has 3 newly added MBBS seats.

MBBS: 83 Seats

The 83 new MBBS seats are distributed as follows:

These additions total 83 MBBS seats.

BDS: 100 Seats

The 100 newly added BDS seats are at Datta Meghe Dental College, Hospital and Research Centre, Nagpur, under the Self-Financed Merit Seat quota.
