Barasat Government Medical College & Hospital (BGMCH), located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, is a newly established government medical college under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS Phase II). Built on 20.53 acres of land within the existing Barasat District Hospital campus, BGMCH started its first MBBS batch in the 2022–23 academic session with an annual intake of 100 students through NEET-UG counseling.
Affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the institution also offers DNB programs, Nursing, and Paramedical courses. The attached hospital is one of the largest in the district, with a 600-bedded facility, handling 3,000+ OPD patients daily, 20+ deliveries per day, and modern diagnostic and critical care services.
