Overview of Shija Academy of Health Sciences

Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) proudly established the first homegrown private medical college in North-East India under the name Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS). Approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) through letter No. NMC/UG/2020/000092/032984 dated 01-11-2021, the college began its journey in the academic session 2021–2022 with an annual MBBS intake of 150 students at HealthVillage, Langol, Imphal West, Manipur.

The institution was created with the mission to produce empathetic, research-oriented, and socially responsible medical professionals while also promoting affordable healthcare and medical value tourism in Manipur.

History & Background of SHRI

Founded as Shija Clinic in 1985 at Paona Bazar, it has grown into a 350-bedded NABH (Pre Entry) certified super-specialty hospital with 60 critical care beds.
Staffed by over 1,399 caregivers including 165 full-time doctors, SHRI provides comprehensive healthcare at the eco-friendly HealthVillage campus in Langol.
Facilities include a NABL-accredited laboratory and advanced specialty departments.
SHRI was instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic in testing, treatment, and critical care for both waves.

Guinness World Record (2006): Successful removal of the world’s largest neck tumor (40% of body weight).
Re-implantation of 8 amputated hands and fingers.

Management Quota Students: Must bring DD of ₹18,00,000 at reporting.
NRI Quota Students: One-time payment of USD $2,00,000.
No other form of payment will be accepted. Seats will be cancelled if the required DD is not produced.

Eligibility Criteria of Shija Academy of Health Sciences

Educational Qualification
