SVIMS – Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, Tirupati, was established in 2014 as a dedicated government medical college for women under the aegis of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) University. It is the only women-exclusive medical college in Andhra Pradesh, created with the vision of empowering women in medicine and healthcare.

Starting with 150 MBBS seats, the intake was increased to 175 seats from 2019, making it one of the few medical colleges in India exclusively training women doctors. The college is situated on a unitary campus at Alipiri Road, Tirupati, with teaching hospital, hostels, residential quarters, College of Nursing, and College of Physiotherapy all integrated within the SVIMS campus.

The college was founded in 2014 with the first batch of 150 MBBS students, later expanded to 175 seats in 2019. Established within the SVIMS University campus, the institution was supported by land allotments from TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) and infrastructure development by APMSIDC, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

As the only women-exclusive medical college in Andhra Pradesh, its vision is to empower women in healthcare education, research, and leadership. The mission of SVIMS-SPMCW is to nurture a generation of competent, compassionate women doctors who will contribute to both clinical excellence and public health.

Educational Qualification
